Hello, I’m Amber!
My name is Amber Michalowski, graduating in May 2026 with a BFA in Communication Design, minoring in Coaching and Athletic Administration- for my love of ice hockey, and the experience to play collegiately on the men’s team as the only girl here for 4 years. Outside of the sport, teamwork is where I excel- the ability to gather real and honest opinions from others and always find new ways to work together. Cohesiveness, the ability to tell a story, and invoke an emotional connection is something you’ll be able to find through my work; through campaigns, rebrands, and more, giving my work the 360 degree approach for real-world concepts. I believe creativity through my work and others should never be limited, and thinking outside of the box makes designs stand out. I live by the quote “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work” because talent alone isn’t enough- Work ethic, determination, and resiliency is what tells the full story.
This past spring before graduation, I had a wonderful opportunity to intern with the Reading Royals Professional Ice Hockey team as apart of the small Graphic Design crew creating their social media gameday designs, in-arena promotions and designs, as well as external. We were also able to create a brand new, 360 degree visual identity for their 25th anniversary for new logos, advertisements, design templates for gameday use, and more. Additionally, I also interned separately as a freshmen in college apart of their Gameday Promotional Staff Team, providing me unique experiences in-game with fan engagement activities for children and adults, supervising gameday operations, and the ability to promote the sense of community ice hockey can bring in Berks County.
I currently work apart of the Game-day Promotional Staff Team for the Reading Royals Professional Ice Hockey Team as I was hired after interning, as well as employed at Bodyzone Sports and Wellness Complex, overseeing the general building maintenance including the ice rinks, fields, and gym. With my multiple other roles there such as Guest Service Representative, counselor at their “School’s Out Summer Camp,” apart of their Learn to Skate program, and coaching Reading Royals Youth Ice hockey, I quickly learned how different departments work together, and how to work my way up, staying dedicated to a workplace I love. Along the way I have developed a great sense of what it’s like in the workplace, developing my passion for different departments while expanding my skillset, and find where I excel at the most. I am currently exploring different creative and/or design positions in southeast PA, and I am more than open to remote or hybrid work opportunities.
